1. ==> The Pageant is Sunday – Is Gretchen Carlson
Ruining Miss America?

Late long-time Miss America Chairman Al Marks often
said that Miss America is the “girl next door,” the
all-American young woman who becomes America’s
Sweetheart overnight. “Al would roll over in his grave
to see how the Miss America Pageant has become about
the agendas of one person in leadership, rather than
focusing on the building of women into leaders,” says
former Miss South Carolina Jane Jenkins Herlong.
“Sadly, (former Miss America and current Miss America
Chairwoman) Gretchen Carlson is using the very program
that helped launch her career to launch another agenda:
The #MeMeMeMeToo movement, which is about the agenda of
one person, rather than the good of many.” Jane is the
best-selling author of four books including Indie Book
Award-winning “Rhinestones on My Flip-Flops.” She is a
popular speaker who was inducted into the Speaker Hall
of Fame, and a gifted singer who has recorded music CDs
and humor/personal growth DVDs. Her comedy is featured
on Sirius XM 97. Contact her at

2. ==> It’s Time for Football! Interview Real-Life NFL
Star of ‘Invincible’

Remember the movie ‘Invincible’ staring Mark Wahlberg?
It’s the story of Vince Papale, a 30-year-old teacher
who’d never played a down of college ball but was given
a shot to try out for the Philadelphia Eagles as a
publicity stunt. Incredibly, Vince made the squad and
went on to become a key part of the team. What does it
actually take to make the cut? Why not ask Vince to
share his incredible but true “Rocky Balboa-like” story
with your audience? You may also interview another
“Invincible” former NFL player, Dennis Franks. Dennis
has his own incredible story of succeeding in the NFL
despite overwhelming odds. Today Vince is one of the
top motivational speakers in the country and Dennis is
executive vice president (and part owner) of Market
America, Inc. Their new book, “The Last Laugh: From
Vision to Victory,” shares a 7-step process for setting
and achieving any goal. Contact Nancy Franks at (336)

3. ==> Meet Monday Night Football’s Airborne Cameraman

On Monday, Night Football” will return for its 49th
season covering NFL football. There to provide the
bird’s eye view of the action on the field will be
airborne cameraman David Alan Arnold, who most fans
don’t realize, will continue his tradition of risking
his life to get the shots viewers and TV networks
crave. David can talk about what it’s like to film
2,000 feet above the Super Bowl and other stadiums and
why he believes he has the greatest job in the world
even though two dozen airborne cameramen just like him
have been killed on the job. He says, “I don’t fear
death. I fear not living.” David is an Emmy-award
winner who has flown over a thousand missions to
capture breath-taking, airborne images for shows like
“Deadliest Catch,” “The World Series” and “Survivor.”
He is the author of “Help from Above: How I Went from
Sweeping the Floor to Painting the Sky.” Reach him at

4. ==> Grandparents Day is Sunday – Here’s an Example
of Super Grandparenting

In virtually every family, grandparents play an
important role in preparing their family’s younger
generations for happier and more successful life. But
sometimes “super” grandparenting is in order. In honor
of international Grandparents Day, and year-round, your
audience will be truly inspired by Dr. Oliver Akamnonu
and his wife. Explore with them on-air: what happened
when their daughter, Nena, discovered her first
pregnancy while in medical school (the baby’s father
was thousands of miles away)… how the Akamnonu couple
left their high powered careers to care for baby Lydia
when she was born, so Nena could continue med
studies… 6 things, other than financial support and
child care, that super grandparents can do to help
their extended family… how super grandparenting can
improve family health, education, income, relationships
and the future of America. The Akamnonus authored the
popular book “Little Baby Lydia, Grandma, Grandpa and
Student Mom: Saga of Family Role Reversal and the New
Times.” Contact Dr. Akamnonu at (413) 693-8428;
