1. ==> Middle East Expert on Israel-Iran Cease-Fire

President Trump says Israel and Iran have agreed to a cease-fire that he says could lead to the end of the war between the countries. Earlier, Iran had launched missiles at a U.S. base in Qatar in retaliation for U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities last weekend. Invite Kenneth Pollack, of the Middle East Institute (MEI) to discuss the situation and what’s at stake going forward. “This is a very big gamble on our part, coming on top of Israel's great gamble. We will only know if it succeeded if we can get through the next 3-5 years without this Iranian regime acquiring nuclear weapons, which they now have compelling reasons to want. Preventing that has to be America's (and Israel's) highest priority now.” Kenneth M. Pollack, PhD., is Vice President for Policy at MEI. Previously he was a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, where he worked on Middle Eastern political-military affairs, focusing in particular on Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf countries. Pollack was also formerly affiliated with the Brookings Institution, where he was a senior fellow at the Saban Center for Middle East Policy. Contact him at (202) 785-1141

Dessler served as a senior policy analyst in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. He’s a seasoned media guest and the author of multiple books on climate change. 2. ==> Economics Made Understandable

Tariffs are threatening, AI is replacing jobs, inflation is on the rise, and the word “recession” is being bandied about. The economy is on everyone’s mind these days—because we’re living it! But few people feel like they understand economics well enough to determine which policies would work best and champion those policies effectively. Howard Yaruss can break down our economic system in a straightforward, nonpartisan way, avoiding jargon. Ask him: Who pays for tariffs and how do they affect prices, jobs, and our economy? Are the government’s huge deficits and escalating national debt threats to our well-being? What causes inflation, how big a problem is it, and how can we rein it in? Could alternative currencies like Bitcoin replace the dollar? Howard Yaruss is an economist, professor, attorney, businessman, and activist who has taught a variety of courses on economics and business and currently teaches at New York University. Prior to teaching, he served as executive vice president and general counsel of Radian Group, one of the largest guarantors of debt in the world. He’s the author of “Understandable Economics: Because Understanding Our Economy is Easier Than You Think and More Important Than You Know.” Contact Lissa Warren at (617) 233-2853; lissawarrenpr@gmail.com

3.==> Is Christianity’s Influence Fading in America?

A new report from the Cultural Research Center (CRC) at Arizona Christian University, led by Dr. George Barna, reveals the changing face of Christianity across the country. This year’s ranking of states by biblical worldview holds few surprises, with Alabama and Mississippi topping the list of states with what CRC calls ‘integrated disciples,’ followed by South Carolina, Arkansas, Montana, Virginia, and Idaho. Oklahoma, Tennessee and North Carolina complete the top 10. Texas, often seen as highly Christian, ranked 30th of 45 states evaluated, with Barna speculating the low ranking could be due to significant population turnover. “Texas has experienced an unusually high level of in-migration during the past decade. The fastest-growing areas of the state are those attracting a flood of non-Christians and liberals, such as Austin and Houston,” he notes. “Perhaps Texas is a harbinger of things to come in terms of worldview, with the ever-diminishing impact of biblical beliefs due to the influx of young adults who dismiss Christianity as irrelevant and untruthful.” He adds, “Texas’s long-standing tradition of biblical Christianity has been severely compromised in a short span of time, due in no small part to household mobility and to a growing proportion of young people. The implications of that transformation are instructive and may become particularly significant for other states in the South and Midwest that are also vulnerable to such influences.” The American Worldview Inventory is a national survey measuring the incidence of both biblical and competing worldviews. Research studies conducted by CRC are led by Dr. George Barna. Barna is a veteran of more than 40 years of national public opinion research, having previously guided the Barna group and the American Culture and Faith Institute.
