1. ==> Trump Fumbled the Caravan
Donald Trump is threatening to place soldiers on the
U.S.-Mexico border to face off against a thousand-
strong caravan of Central Americans who started in
Honduras and slowly wound their way through Mexico to
enter los Estados Unidos. Gustavo Arellano says, “The
bizarre thing is that Trump could’ve actually scored
some points off of this situation and not put our
national security at risk by trying to construct a
modern-day (and likely equally successful) Maginot
Line.” He adds, “If any of those in the caravan get
sent back and die at the hands of the people they
traveled so far to escape, the blood will be on Trump’s
hands. Our troops deserve better than to be used as
pawns in some reality-show reality by a power-hungry
and attention-seeking tyrant.” Gustavo Arellano is the
former editor of OC Weekly, an alternative newspaper in
Orange County, California, author of “Orange County: A
Personal History” and “Taco USA: How Mexican Food
Conquered America,” and a lecturer with the Chicana and
Chicano Studies department at California State
University, Fullerton. His commentaries regularly
appear on Marketplace and the Los Angeles Times.

2. ==> From Homeless Immigrant to Best-Selling Author
As a caravan of immigrants sits in Tijuana, Mexico
awaiting their fate, award-winning author Tony J.
Selimi remembers his own journey to freedom from
Macedonia where he was forced to fight in a civil war
he despised. He says, “To save my life, my late mother
put me on a one-way flight to the UK. I went from being
a teenage victim of war to living homeless on the
streets of London.” 28-years later Selimi now teaches
people all over the globe the importance of embracing
the gifts and the challenges migrant and refugees bring
to society and the world.” Tony will share why he
believes migrants are a conduit for more light and an
opportunity to self-reflect on our disempowered states
that we blame the most vulnerable for. Tony J. Selimi
is author of “A Path to Wisdom” and “#Loneliness – The
Virus of the Modern Age,” and co-creator of “Living My
Illusion- The Truth Hurts,” an award-winning
documentary. Tony has appeared on over 100 TV and radio
stations across the world. Contact him at +44 &8 1717

3. ==> The Sprint/T-Mobile Merger and You
Sprint and T-Mobile are close to merging. If the deal
is approved, the resulting company would be the
nation’s second-biggest wireless carrier after Verizon,
controlling roughly 100 million customers. What will
that really mean to consumers? Shelly Palmer says,
“Practically nothing now. But in a few years, a merged
SprinT will be one of three 5G providers in the US.”
Wondering what that could mean? Palmer can discuss the
proposed merger and the five things 5G should make you
think about. Shelly Palmer is well-known as Fox 5 New
York’s on-air tech expert and for his work on the TV
show, Shelly Palmer Digital Living. He is also a
regular technology commentator for CNBC, MSNBC, CNN,
and Fox Business News. Contact him at (917) 886-1173;

4. ==> Cosby Mentally Preparing for Prison
His attorneys might still be talking about innocence
and appeals, but according to published reports Bill
Cosby is mentally preparing himself for prison. “This
is what they wanted,” the 80-year-old actor/comedian
told Page Six after a Pennsylvania jury found him
guilty Thursday of drugging and sexually assaulting
Andrea Constand. Invite clinical forensic psychologist
Dr. John Huber to talk about Cosby’s transition to
prison if he is ordered to serve time behind bars and
how his demeanor changed over the course of the trial.
A mental health professional for over twenty years, Dr.
Huber is a clinical forensic psychologist and chairman
of Mainstream Mental Health, a non-profit organization.

5. ==> Award-Winning Documentary ‘What Haunts Us’
The critically-acclaimed documentary What Haunts Us
arrives in theaters and on STARZ this month. Directed
by Paige Goldberg Tolmach, the film looks at the 1979
graduating class of Paige’s alma mater, the prestigious
Porter Gaud School in Charleston, SC. Forty-nine boys
graduated that year; six of them would later commit
suicide. Upon learning the news of her classmates,
Paige took a deeper look into the school’s past and
uncovers the truth about a beloved teacher who molested
many of his students for years. Paige’s obsession was
to find out how this could have happened in plain view,
and as it turns out, with the school’s knowledge. Paige
will discuss the new award-winning film, how she was
able to uncover the truth and get answers to the
questions no one wanted to hear, and what she hopes
viewers will take away. What Haunts Us opens in
theaters May 11th and premieres on STARZ May 14th.

6. ==> Moms: Just Say “No!” on Mother’s Day
What’s Mom doing this Mother’s Day? Dr. Saundra Dalton-
Smith hopes she’ll spend her day saying no. As
everyone’s go-to when someone is hungry or hurt,
something is lost or needs fixing, Mom gives more than
her fair share, and then some. This Mother’s Day, Dr.
Saundra challenges Mom to take charge of her day just
by saying “no.” No cooking, cleaning, chores. No taking
on other people’s workloads, fighting somebody else’s
battles. Mom needs to relax, recharge, and refresh.
Talk to Dr. Saundra about the seven different ways Mom
(and everyone else) needs to rest so she can be the
happy, healthy woman you can celebrate with every day
of the year. Dr. Saundra’s advice and expertise has
been featured in Woman’s Day and Prevention magazines.

7. ==> When Mother’s Day Hurts
Here it comes, the annual reminder of what may be
unpleasant realities. Whether your mother is recently
deceased and you miss her dreadfully, or she’s very
ill, or you’ve been caring for her these last few years
and she no longer knows who you are, Mother’s Day isn’t
necessarily a happy day for everyone. Sheila Collins,
PhD, an expert on grief, loss, and self-care for
caregivers, has practical advice for those whose
Mother’s Day won’t look like a Hallmark ad. An author,
improv comedian, and dancing social worker, Dr. Collins
will bring a playful humorous touch to the conversation
and offer ways to take care of yourself, no matter what
your ‘mother challenge’ may be—your own mother or being
a mom yourself. Sheila Collins’ upcoming book with co-
author Christine Gautreaux is “Stillpoint: A Self-care
Playbook for Caregivers to Find Ease, Time to Breathe,
and Reclaim Joy.” Contact Dr. Collins at (817)
706-4967.
8. ==> Free Mother’s Day Gifts She’ll Love
Americans spend on average $124 dollars on Mother’s Day
gifts, for a total of over $30 billion. Flowers are
lovely and spa certificates are appreciated, but
sometimes you just don’t have the cash. Luckily for
you, Suzanne Wexler says what tired and overworked moms
often need most are gestures that come free of charge!
“Mothers want to know their family values their hard
work and considers their feelings. A few heartfelt
tokens of gratitude may be just as meaningful as a
gift, if not more. Especially moms with younger
children and babies!” Wexler has great no-cost ideas
for honoring all the moms in your life, and if you must
splurge, she’s also got advice on what will—and
won’t—be appreciated by Mom. Suzanne Wexler is a
Montreal-based culture and lifestyle expert who has
written over a hundred features and trend reports for
major Canadian newspapers. Her upcoming book of humor
memoir stories is “How to Swing Like a Southern Belle,
even if you’re Frozen in the North.” Contact her at

9. ==> May 8th World Ovarian Cancer Day
Ovarian cancer is a disease that is often misdiagnosed
or discovered too late to save women’s lives. Of all
female cancers, it has the lowest survival rate and
virtually any woman is capable of developing it. Jen
Coken, the daughter of a health-obsessed woman who died
of the disease, wants to spread awareness of the
symptoms of ovarian cancer and help women talk to their
doctors about them. Invite Jen on your show and learn
who has the greatest risk for ovarian cancer, symptoms
and warning signs of the disease, and why there have
been no significant improvements in detecting or
treating ovarian cancer in the last 50 years. Jen Coken
will hold a free informational webinar on ovarian
cancer on May 8th. She is the author of “When I Die,
Take My Panties: Turning Your Darkest Moments into Your
Greatest Gifts.” She is a coach, a speaker and a
recovering stand-up comedian. Contact her at (303)

10. ==> Snitches or Heroes? Whistleblowers
Roughly half (47%) of all workers witness crimes or
wrongdoing at their workplace but only 3% have the
courage and tenacity to blow the whistle to the
authorities. Invite Michael McCray, an author, speaker
and public interest advocate, to explain why. McCray
blew the whistle on $40M of fraud during the Clinton
Administration and has become one of the world’s
foremost proponents for whistleblowers. In his book
“Race, Power & Politics” McCray gives the inside story
of ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for
Reform Now). He also hosts the Whistleblower Summit for
Civil & Human Rights, the largest and most prestigious
whistleblower conference on Capitol Hill, on July 30th,
National Whistleblower Appreciation Day. Contact him at
(870) 543-0024; mccray.michael@gmail.com
11. ==> May 4th is National Star Wars Day!
Are we closer than we think to leaving Earth? Escaping
our “doomed” planet? Is our space program looking more
like Star Wars and Lost in Space? Interview Dr. Paul
Wand, author of “Earth 2.0 Exodus: Escaping our Doomed
Planet,” about how factual these shows really are.
He’ll entertain your audience by discussing all things
sci-fi and explain how the development of quantum
computers – now a reality – will change everything.
Wand’s study of the trajectory of real science makes
science fiction more believable than ever! A science
fiction fan since the original Star Trek series in the
‘60s, Wand is well versed not only in the lore but also
the facts behind the science fictions shows and movies
we have all grown up with and love. Dr. Wand, who
specializes in Neurology by day, has created a unique
“factual science fiction” genre that gives him the
inside track on where future Artificial Intelligence
might be heading, why the configuration of his star
ship could work, and why the eventual demise of the
Earth will most likely be caused by the sun. Contact

12. ==> How to Work Well with Obnoxious Coworkers
What can you do when success at work depends on
uncooperative, nasty people? How productive can you be
when rude, obnoxious, argumentative people impede your
progress at every step? Author, communication expert,
and conflict resolution specialist Tamara Dorris will
discuss tactics she uses to heal rifts between warring
factions within corporations. She’ll discuss why
certain people just can’t get along and reveal ways to
identify and dispose of the baggage that ruins
successful collaboration. Tamara, whose expertise
includes the science behind the power of the mind, is a
corporate consultant and educator. She’s been quoted in
Seventeen, Weight Watchers, O Magazine, Wall Street
Journal, and more and has appeared on Sacramento &
Company and Good Day Sacramento. Contact her at (916)
482-5834.
13. ==> Corporate America’s Dirty Little Secret: Ageism
Exists
Corporate America has a dirty little secret – companies
are discarding their older employers like yesterday’s
newspaper, just because of their age. But according to
career coach Diane Huth, it doesn’t have to be that
way. Huth coaches baby boomers on five key things they
need to do to keep their current job or find a new one.
You’ll learn the single most important task any older
worker must focus on, how keeping up on skills and
certifications is imperative and low-and no-cost ways
to achieve and keep career relevance. Diane also urges
workers to look as young as they can without looking
silly and will share easy ways to look 10 – 15 years
younger fast. Diane Huth’s new book “Brand You! To Re-
Invent Your Career” will be released this summer.

14. ==> Shocking Facts about Traumatic Brain Injuries
We often hear about concussions and other brain
injuries involving pro football players, but ordinary
people, including one-in-five teens, also sustain these
injuries causing headaches, nausea, dizziness,
insomnia, depression, lack of concentration, and more.
Invite Susana Stoica, Ph.D., to discuss her difficult
15-year battle to recover from a brain injury and how
others can avoid the same mistakes. Dr. Stoica will
discuss what to do after suffering a brain trauma, how
to limit post-trauma brain swelling or secondary brain
injury, whether the body can ever completely heal from
a brain trauma, and how conventional medical treatments
fail to address all the components of healing the
brain. You’ll learn the physical and emotional toll of
brain injuries on sufferers and their families, as well
as how anyone can improve their brain function at any
age. Susana Stoica, Ph.D., the founder of Healing
Alternatives, LLC, is a healer, engineer, inventor, and
speaker. In July, she will be giving a workshop on
brain injury recovery at Harvard Medical School. Her
new book is “Heal Your Brain, Reclaim Your Life.”

15. ==> Ancient Arthritis Relief that Works
Arthritis can be debilitating and painful. Pills can be
dangerous and alternative therapies aren’t usually
covered by health insurance. But a new study published
in the Journal of Complementary Therepeutic Medicine
this month finds that movement therapies can help
adults suffering from arthritis, both physically and
emotionally. José de la Torre can show listeners how to
effectively manage their arthritic pain with a set of
five ancient Tibetan exercises, which they can practice
at any time. Jose says the movements help alleviate
symptoms of both osteoarthritis, as well as rheumatoid
arthritis. Jose holds a degree in mathematics from
Arizona State University, and a master’s degree from
the University of Texas at Austin. He is also the
author of “Spiritual Living for Busy People: How to
Nourish Your Soul in Today’s Hectic World.” Contact him

16. ==> May – Brain Cancer Awareness Month
Do you know why brain tumors rarely form in the very
center of the brain? Dr. Mylaine Riobe, MD, FACOG says
it’s because that area of the brain gets the freshest
blood supply while the outer parts of the brain get the
‘left-overs.’ She believes that nutrient or hormone
deficit then affect cells and can result in a tumor or
memory loss. She’ll answer all your questions about
cancer and the misinformation that surrounds the
prevention, diagnosis and treatment of this epidemic
and explain her new theory of cancer as an
opportunistic disease – how it acts like a parasite
attacking weakened immune systems. You’ll learn why the
US rate of cancer is 4x that of the Chinese and hear
about promising treatments that focus on finding and
fixing deficiencies. Dr. Riobe’s multi-faceted approach
combines TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) with
conventional medicine. A dynamic, progressive
integrative medical doctor with over 15 years of
experience, she’s the author of “The Answer to Cancer”
and “The Tao of Integrative Medicine.” Contact her at

18. ==> Do the ‘I Love You Just the Way You Are’ Show
Just in time for Billy Joel’s 68th birthday, May 9, why
not do a show that celebrates the unconditional love
described in his classic 1977 song “I Love You Just the
Way You Are”? Dr. Jeanne Sanner, the author of “Finding
Unconditional Love a Little Peace at a Time,” will
discuss what it really means to love someone “just the
way they are” – and offer tips on loving ourselves
despite our perceived imperfections. An abused child
who grew up believing she was not “good enough,” Jeanne
